Tribal coin necklaces with their often multi-layer display of a woman’s or bride’s wealth are a particular fascination of mine for the way in which more is often more. I also love the way that various designers from Tony Duquette to Dolce e Gabbana, for instance, have taken the idea and turned it into a whole other animal. In this case more is definitely more, as what was originally conceived as a two strand necklace grew into three, improving on the balance of the piece while adding a mass more amazonite and silver.

The amazonite is from Peru and consists of two different sizes of faceted rounds, while the ‘coins’ and faceted nuggets are all 97% pure Karen Thai Hilltribe silver. The remaining silver accessories, such as the clasp, are sterling silver. This is a fabulous piece that will enhance any boho or tribal outfit while looking equally spectacular with slouchy, sporty looks.
Length: longest strand – 35.5 inches/90cm; middle strand – 31 inches/78.5cm; shortest strand – 28 inches/71cm.
