A special and enchanting necklace combining exceptional quality AAA Grade saltwater Akoya keshi pearls from Japan with delicate pastel coloured raw sapphire nuggets from Montana in the U.S.A. and lavish 24k gold plated sterling silver (vermeil) charms and granulated spacers from Bali.
Keshi (Japanese = ‘poppy’) are essentially a by-product of saltwater pearl farming occurring as a result of cultivation mishaps or accidents or injury to the oyster. Like natural pearls they consist entirely of nacre. These are a particularly lustrous white and are the perfect foil to the gorgeous Montana sapphires, the colours of which range from deep red through purple, mauve and blue. The organic shapes of both the pearls and sapphires bring an entirely modern feel to a necklace that has at its core a Mughal aesthetic.
Wear this necklace as a single long strand, a double wrap-around or perhaps as a wrap around bracelet. Stunning!
