Description
Blue skies and red desert earth combine as Nature intended in this long two strand necklace made from a deeper shade than usual of African Opal Jasper – a stone also known as Impression Jasper, Aqua Terra Jasper and occasionally as Variscite. It is definitely not the latter but instead a ‘potch’ of common blue opal and its surrounding matrix.
These colours really made me think of the American Southwest; however, rather than aim for strictly Southwestern styling, I decided to go for a bit of day-into-night glimmer and glitz, which is provided by flashes of sterling silver and earthy, hand-faceted rondelles of blue, green and yellow flash labradorite. Still goes beautifully with Southwestern and cowgirl looks as well as with drapey boho outfits.
Length: longest strand = 34 inches approx./86cm, shortest strand = 32 inches/81cm.
Comes in its very own Thai silk padded gift box for safe-keeping.
