For the tech heads amongst you, the Amal E006 Earrings in pure silicon and sterling silver are a must! They look all shiny and metallic but weigh barely anything. Definite conversation starters!
The earrings are made from roughly oval silicon drops which exhibit their raw surface on the front and are polished on the back. The are suspended from fixed earwires and, as a result, won’t wear nor wear down the silver. The earwires come fitted with silicone stoppers to keep the earrings in place should you so choose.
MATERIALS
Many people confuse silicone and silicon. They are not the same thing although the latter does form the chemical basis for the former. One is a synthetic polymer while the other – the one you see here – is the second most abundant element in the Earth’s crust, the catch being that, in nature, it never occurs in its pure form. Instead, it occurs chiefly as various forms of silicon dioxide (silica) or as silicate minerals, of which quartz is perhaps the best-known form. The shiny, elemental silicon from which these earrings are made is produced commercially by reducing quartz sand with carbon in an electric furnace. This is the same substance used in the photovoltaic and electronics industries, but it also looks hot when cut and polished for use in jewellery.

The earrings come carded as shown, in a velvet bag for safe-keeping and gift-wrapped for instant gift-giving. Because the gemstones and other components used in my jewellery can be fragile and easily damaged if mistreated, all pieces are carefully packed for domestic and international shipping using recycled packing materials and boxes made by us from recycled materials.
I ship almost all of my packages with Australia Post using Parcel Post within Australia and Standard International shipping for international orders. Both come with tracking and Express Post and extra cover insurance can be added if requested. I combine shipping and will refund any excess shipping costs.
